Clann na Gael Pipe Band at Alma Highland Games 1977 in Grade II. Half the band were Jim's students and had never played in any band or competed in any grade. The other half were seasoned top players dragged out of retirement and a wild bunch fer sure, variously known as the Murder City Highlanders, Johnny Rotten and the Sex Chanters etc etc. Damn good music though if you could get past the drinking and occasional brawls.
